Great Marketing – Promote Yourself In The Toilet!

When we think of places to advertise our products and services, we think of such places as bustling high streets, city centres and underground stations. Consequently, we overlook some hidden gems; one of which is the toilet!

In reality, public bathrooms have an impressive number of users per day, especially those at shopping malls and large restaurants. For a proportion of those users, it’s a place of relaxation and release – if you’re following… This provides opportune moments to enslave their wandering attention for a good few minutes to promote your brand. Key note – the quirkier and cleverer, the better! As proven by the campaigns below from companies that have cottoned onto this ingenious marketing space!

Hewlett Packard Mirror

Max Coffee

Georgia Max Coffee chose to redesign the toilets of a number of key ski resorts in Japan. The cubicles were fully wrapped on all sides, creating the impression, for the person on the loo, that they were about to embark down a very steep, snowy drop! The toilet paper holder was branded, and read: “Seriously kick-ass, intensely sweet, for the real coffee, super zinging, unstoppable Max! Taste-explosion!”’. The Print Ad titled “Ski Toilets” was done by Tugboat (advertising agency): Georgia Max Coffee, Japan. It was released in the March 2009.

These examples prove that marketing is truly boundless, and there’s no place too small nor too weird for it to work.
